Fall 2010
This year has already flown by with our Fall Events-- and when I think of it, we haven't even done our two biggest ones yet!
The Fall Season we use primarily to recruit for the upcoming Winter Season. We host social events such as Tailgates at each home football game (Which Michigan State was lucky to have 7 this year!), take 60 people on a hayride to Andy T's Farm in St. John's, as well as a Fall Bash-- which we host a BBQ and fun games such as bags, ladder golf, Frisbee and volleyball, at a park for the day.
This year we have a very new crowd of students, in years past we have solely relied on Alumni and their legacies to keep our Club going, and yes we still have our select few-- myself included, so therefore in a way we had to reach out a little further and not necessarily stay in the set path when it came to getting the word out. Whether it be with our Facebook, Twitter, Chalking or Painting The Rock on Campus
For the first 4 tailgates we held them at the Tennis Courts and then for the MSU vs Wisconsin game we switched it up and held it in a residential area. We caught a lot of slack from former SSCers but as a whole (Myself and The Rest of The E-Board) we decided change isn't necessarily a bad thing. To be honest, this Saturday was quite eventful!! We had a great turn out, more people came and stayed the whole time rather than jumping from tailgate to tailgate, we even had some one playing the Bag Pipes!
I know its hard to change something that may seem to be flawless in the years past, but times are changing, and so is SSC.
Here are some pictures we captured over the past weekend:
Playing the MSU Fight Song
SSCers enjoying each others' company
Grilling up some Hot Dogs and Cheese Burgers
Having a good turn out at these events keeps are club growing and growing. As well as developing a successful season!
These events get people more and more excited about our trips as well as letting their friends in on the action!
We are THE Spartan Ski Club, but we also know how to throw a successful tailgate too! Just Look For the Flag.
Upcoming Events:
Hayride: October 8th, 6 p.m. to Midnight. --Sign Up on October 5th
Fall Bash: October 23rd 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Catch ya later!

What to Expect
Spartan Ski Club is one of the largest student organization on MSU's campus, and it has been for the past 15 years. During these years people have come and gone. Some of the events have stayed the same and others have either altered a bit, or possibly completely cut out. However, one thing is certain, SSC has stayed loyal to one thing, bring together fun, spirited people that have one common interest, SNOW SPORTS.
This blog is to encourage SSC Alumni and current SSCer's to discuss the events, tell us what happened at the event, what new skies they got, where they want their next trip to be, and much more--really no limitations. This is also to inform others that may not be in The Club, what we actually do.
Also, this blog is to entice past presidents to see what their legacy has left and what is going on now. Times have changed and in some way, so has The Club.
This Blog will hopefully create a more vocal discussion on what is happening in The Club and keep people connected.
